With over forty years dedicated to Brazilian contemporary art, Silvia Cintra Galeria de Arte has established itself as one of the country’s leading galleries and a major reference in Rio de Janeiro, representing names such as Amilcar de Castro, Miguel Rio Branco, Nelson Leirner, Iole de Freitas, Ana Maria Tavares, Sebastião Salgado, Cristina Canale, among others. In January 2010, the gallery opened a new space in Gávea.
The move also marks the merger between Silvia Cintra Galeria de Artes and Box 4, a gallery founded in 2006 by Juliana Cintra, Silvia’s daughter, that focused on new artists such as Laercio Redondo, Marcius Galan, Chiara Banfi, Cinthia Marcelle, Pedro Motta, among others. The Silvia Cintra + Box 4 gallery aims to offer a new art experience in Rio.
