1st edition

In its 1st edition, ArPa had about 10 thousand visitors that attended the Pavilhão Pacaembu from June 1st to 5th. The Fair also shared the Pavilion with MADE, the most prestigious design fair in the country, established in 2012. The partnership enabled the expansion and synergy between the art and design audiences.

In the search for a decentralized look and aiming to bring together different approaches and perspectives on contemporary art, ArPa invited four curators responsible for the different sectors and programs of the event. The Main, UNI and Satellite sectors took place at the Pavilion; Arte em Campo, open and free of charge, was located at Charles Miller Square, seeking to encourage the formation of new audiences through educational and communication programs; and lastly, the Prisma Program was created as a way to expand the Fair's boundaries and spread knowledge throughout other spaces and institutions in the city by means of visits to exhibitions, artists' studios, and private collections, and more.

In this context, the ArPa team has prioritized the contemplative experience, creating a more intimate atmosphere with the visiting audiences, which brought together artists, curators, gallery owners, collectors and art enthusiasts. Thus, two sizes of exhibition spaces were chosen in the Main Sector, in which the galleries showed up to three artists from their program.
