Albuquerque Contemporânea is committed to strengthening Belo Horizonte as a hub for the production and circulation of contemporary Brazilian art, highlighting its plurality. With a focus on the primary market, the gallery invests in established artists and emerging talents, promoting dialogue between generations and artistic languages. It also seeks to be a reference in the exchange between artists, curators and critics, bringing the public closer to different artistic forms.
Under the direction of Flávia Albuquerque––with extensive experience at Celma Albuquerque Galeria de Arte––and Lucas Albuquerque, representing the third generation of gallery owners, Albuquerque Contemporânea aims to expand its international activity. The gallery intends to consolidate itself as a reference for contemporary Brazilian art at international fairs and to strengthen ties with institutions, artist residencies and museums, fostering artistic exchange.
