Cerrado Galeria

Founded in 2023, Cerrado Galeria reflects the world from the Mid-West region of Brazil. The result of the union of experienced gallerists Lucio Albuquerque, Antônio Almeida and Carlos Dale, Cerrado is part of a project that aims to boost the geographical expansion of the Brazilian art system, focusing on the potential that lies in the center of the country. The gallery’s name pays homage to the richness of the Cerrado biome, with its vast biodiversity and cultural complexity. It honors native and traditional manifestations, as well as the multiple interpretations of modernism in the region.

The gallery’s program has a special interest in issues related to ecology, historical processes and the social fabric of the context in which it is inserted, seeking to foster plural artistic productions and address urgent discussions. In Goiânia, Cerrado occupies an iconic modernist house on Rua 84. In Brasília, the gallery is located in Lago Sul, with a new 1,600 square meter space coming soon. Cerrado strongly signals the expansion and national focus of the project to showcase and promote modern and contemporary Brazilian art undertaken by the three gallerists, who join forces and merge experiences acquired over the more than 30 years they have been working in the art market.
